This tour will take you to some of the most important cities in the north part of the country, like the former capital COIMBRA. Border by Mondego River, it’s known because of the University (established in 1290) with its 18th library, which is a must.

The Church of New Saint Clare, that houses the tomb of the Holy Queen St. Isabel, offers lovely scenery over the River. The Romanesque Cathedral and Portugal in Miniature Park, are also worth to be visited.

On the way to Oporto is AVEIRO, known as the Portuguese Venice, a city with channels and Costa Nova with its colored stripped houses.

In PORTO, Portugal’s 2nd largest city, a tour to the most emblematic places, including S. Francisco Church with its Baroque style gilt wood work, Sao Bento railway station with its lovely blue and white tile panels.

The tour goes with a walk in Ribeira district (World Heritage Site), right in front of Port wine cellars and close from D. Luis and D. Maria Bridges. Visit some winery with Port wine tasting and a river cruise are also included.

These 2 days tour can end in Porto, or in Lisbon, with a stop on the way in FATIMA, Portugal’s most devoted Catholic center.
